Piano Lesson Fees 2009 - 2010 (effective through August 31, 2010)

Young students have two semesters per year - September through January and February through June.  Cost per 15 lesson semester is $1,125 for one-hour lessons and $900 for 45 minute lessons.  30 minute lessons are offered only in exceptional situations, and are $750 per semester.  The only additional fee is $30 per semester for piano scores.  Two or three piano recitals are included with no additional charge, typically taking place in February and May.  Adult piano students do not usually participate in the recitals, but are encouraged to participate in periodic "play-dates", which are informal adult piano student gatherings.  A small family discount of $25 per Fall and Spring semester is given to each family member registered for lessons after the first.

Customized blocks of lessons shorter than the 15-lesson semester are available for summer students, adult students, and students enrolling mid-semester.  These are billed at $75 per one-hour lesson or $60 per 45-minute lesson.  In exceptional cases, 30 minute lessons are available for $50.

Cancellations

Lessons ordinarily take place at your assigned time.  By planning ahead, lessons may occasionally be rescheduled on our mutual calendars.  Should the need to change a lesson time arise, students must give at least seven (7) days notice and a makeup lesson within the term will be offered.  I recommend that families think about their vacation and sports schedules with piano lessons in mind at the beginning of the semester and work ahead of time to reschedule lessons if needed.  Missed lessons with less than 7 days notice will be forfeited.  Consequently if a student becomes ill, most likely that lesson will need to be forfeited.  Students can request a copy of the "swap sheet" and attempt to exchange lesson times with another student to avoid forfeiting the lesson.  Please note that if students wish to make up the missed lesson, it must happen within that semester.  If I need to reschedule a lesson I will give as much notice as possible, offering make-up options to fit your needs.  In the case of weather emergencies, students and teacher need to communicate and reschedule if necessary.

The fee goes up slightly each September.
